Mr. Birendra Kumar- MD & CEO-IARC

Mr. Birendra Kumar has rich and diverse banking, investment banking and financial advisory experience in India and abroad. He was the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Credit Officer of State Bank of India prior to which he was also the Managing Director & CEO of SBI Capital Markets Limited for a period of over three years.

Post his superannuation in 2002 and till February 2007, he was the Advisor, Financial Advisory Services, PwC, Mumbai, and was instrumental in initiating and leading Business Recovery Services (Distressed Debt Advisory) practice of PwC in Mumbai. During his association with PwC, Mr. Kumar successfully led sale of NPL portfolios of US$ 350 million (Rs. 14,000 million) for ICICI Bank and NPL portfolio of approx US$ 120 million (Rs. 4,860 million) for Dena Bank (first ever by a public sector bank), and also handled several assignments from ARCs, banks and distressed debt investors. He was actively involved in advising ARCs on positioning strategy, formulation of business plan and operationalisation strategy and in developing policies and procedures.

He was the member of the PwC team for undertaking a study on behalf of Asian Development Bank and Government of India to suggest regulatory changes for creating an enabling environment for successful functioning of Asset Reconstruction Companies in India. He has been appointed on several Working/ Expert Groups, including Corporate Debt Restructuring Empowered Group set-up by RBI, Working Group set-up by RBI to examine the role of Credit Information Bureau, and a Working Group constituted by Government of India to submit a project report on setting-up National Multi Commodity Exchange.

He was a Special Invitee nominated by RBI on the in-house working group set up to examine issues pertaining to development of market for asset securitization and for the high level meeting convened by Government of India in January 2002 on setting up the first Asset Reconstruction Company.

Vinayak Bahuguna- CEO & MD, Arcil

Mr. Bahuguna is a seasoned professional with over 25 years experience across the banking sector in Indian and African markets. He captained several functions at globally reputed banks. A Chartered Accountant by profession, Mr. Bahuguna commenced his career in 1985 in the corporate Treasury function of an engineering Company. In 1987, he forayed into banking sector, with then ANZ Grindlays Bank. Post an 11 year stint, Mr. Bahuguna moved to Standard Chartered Bank, where he headed several corporate banking functions in the next 14 years. He resigned from his post as Managing Director of Alternative Investments – India & Nigeria to satiate his entrepreneurial aspirations. In 2012, he set up his own financial consultancy firm – Vie Capital, offering boutique solutions in stressed assets and mezzanine financing to mid-tier corporates. Mr. Bahuguna joined Arcil in June 2015 as the CEO & MD.

Dhananjay Kumar Jain - MD & CEO- ASREC

Dhananjay Kumar Jain has vast experience of 36 years in banking sector. He worked in Union Bank of India as an officer from 1977 to 2013. During his service tenure he worked different departments of Bank like Credit Department, HR department, Industrial Relation Department, NPA Recovery and Legal Services Department and Credit Monitoring and Restructuring  Department. He was aptly promoted to the higher post in the Bank and he retired as a General Manager in- charge of NPA Recovery and Legal Services Department.
